Life the Literal Video Game
Use game logic to track and trigger
If you can create real-time spatial trigger areas, detect collisions, and trigger devices… does life become any different than a video game? Sure, you can’t change physics but you can do just about everything else. I discuss the idea in this short loom here.
The TL;DR if you could draw boxes anywhere and detect when they are entered then you could use them to:
track time spent in the living room, sauna, etc.
alert you that baby is on the countertop
designate the corner of your counter as a switch to dim the light or call the police
get scolded when you open the fridge X times
These are areas for the living room and loft I drew on my house in seconds (with the house mesh hidden), in the next post I’ll be exploring tracking time and perhaps early explorations like above.
